Unlike top-tier characters in other Smash games (Pikachu in 64, Meta Knight in Brawl, Diddy Kong in early Smash 4, and Bayonetta in late Smash 4), he has an even skill-to-reward ratio for how dominating he is, is not significantly above the rest of the top characters in singles, and doesn't beat mid- and low-tier characters as hard as, say, Sheik or Falco do.
